Next step to Europe – Drama
We’re so happy to welcome our participants from Next step to Europe project in our country. Youth people from organizations from Italy , Poland and Spain are these days here in Drama taking part in activities, workshops and discussions around the topic of “Fake News”
The first day of our project, Tuesday 23 of September, we started in the venue at the Municipality Hall with a small presentation of the project, the program of the following days and our NGOs. Also, we had some games to get to know each other, and we worked for the preparation of the upcoming world cafe. In the evening, we had a discussion with a local journalist around fake news and how to spot them and protect from them. After that an active workshop took place around educational robotics and how small robots with proper programming can be used to spot fake information around us. It was our pleasure for us and we would like to thank our guests, ms Kiki Cheristanidou and ms Maria Sarpota.
Day 2
The second day of the program, Wednesday 24 September we had the honor to visit the Music School of Drama, there we met with some of the students! All together, we took part in an active workshop with the topic: “Fighting Fake News in Europe”. In this point we would like to thank our Trainer, the psychologist Tazoglou Evanthia for her beautiful work. Then the students presented us a part of their work, playing their instruments and singing so a beautiful party took place to the school yard, a typical Greek glenti! We really enjoyed ourselves and after a short break we returned to the venue at the Municipality Hall where the World Cafe we prepared became real! Some students at a local English school joined us and after a small talk around the topic of Fake News, we created four different posters with the answers of all of our four questions. Finally, we played a Kahoot quiz and we really enjoyed it! This long day ended with a big traditional Greek dinner!
Day 3
The third day of the meeting, Thursday 25 September, had the pleasure to visit the beautiful city of Kavala, there we met two psychologists from the Counseling Centre and had a beautiful talk around fake news and also had an activity to see if we could identify fake news among titles. What a nice experience! Then we had free time to visit the city and even have some fun time to the beach before we return to Drama to have our goodbye dinner all together!
