Next Step to Europe – Step 3
The third youth meeting of the project “STEP to Europe”, under the EU CERV Programme – Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values 2021–2027, took place in Conversano, Italy.
Members of the association “Innovative Actions in Education, Tourism, Health and Interculturalism – K.D.E.T.Y.D.”, representing Greece, participated in meetings with young people from the organizations ROE (Poland), IDEA Alzira (Spain), and MOH (Italy).
Participants visited schools in Conversano and Bari, where they carried out competitions, festivals, workshops, and campaigns together with local students.
The thematic focus of the meeting was “Climate and Environment”, with a variety of activities, including:
- Environmental education workshops
- An eco-festival at San Benedetto High School – Conversano
- Coastal clean-up activities in the Conversano area
- Educational visits to organizations such as Incivicciety and local authorities
- Participation in a World Café experiential workshop with Italian students
- A cultural visit to the traditional town of Alberobello, known for its unique trulli houses
- Exchange of good practices among the four partner organizations, highlighting the importance of ecological awareness and the active involvement of youth in protecting the planet
During the mobility, the conference “I, Citizen of Europe” was completed, aiming to raise youth awareness on issues such as democratic participation, the future of the European Union, solidarity, climate and environment, and combating misinformation.
The next meeting will take place in Greece in September 2025, focusing on the theme “Combating Misinformation”.
